Nishikawaguchi

Nishikawaguchi Area (West Kawaguchi) is in Kawaguchi-City, Saitama the northern suburb of Tokyo and located on 10mi from the centre of Tokyo. Nishikawaguchi Area is a most western part of Kawaguchi-City and touching with Toda-City and Warabi-City which are next to Kawaguchi-City.

Now Kawaguchi-City is a one of residential zone of the metropolitan of Tokyo, but also has big rural site. Nishikawaguchi Area is in the residential area. The population is about 13,000 and households are about 6,000. There has a station and Keihin-Tohoku Line go direct to the centre of Tokyo from here within 30 minutes.

As an industrial area

Kawaguchi City is famous as an industrial area in Tokyo. From the 18th century, they had prospered as a casting town. However few casting factories were there, but Nishikawaguchi had been rural area and paddy field and few people had lived there before the early 20th century. There were developed as a residential area after the war in mid 20th century. Nishikawaguchi station, the only station in this area, was opened in 1954 and housing developments started on agricultural fields. It was in an early phase of economic growth, a population in centre of Tokyo was explosive increasing and a lot of suburb farm towns were developed in from 50’s to 60’s.
